US oil output is now expected to average 12.3 million b/d in 2019 and 13.03 million b/d in 2020, EIA said in its monthly Short-Term Energy Outlook. EIA sees US producers pumping 13 million b/d for the first time in the third quarter of 2020, one quarter later than last month’s forecast. “Both years are still on track for new production records,” EIA Administrator Linda Capuano said in a statement. The US will become a net oil exporter for the first time on a monthly basis in December by exporting 240,000 b/d more crude and refined products than it imports, EIA said. EIA expects the US to hold onto the net oil exporter title in 2020, with exports topping imports by an average of 70,000 b/d. US net imports averaged 2.34 million b/d in 2018 and are projected to average 950,000 b/d in 2019. EIA raised its outlook for 2019 average Brent and WTI crude prices.
