Tanzania has granted a 20-year tax holiday on the $3.5 billion project in addition to waiving transit fees. The waivers have enabled tariffs to remain capped at $12.2 per barrel, rendering the 800-mile long pipeline to “remain profitable” even as oil prices hover around $50.
