Dong Chief Executive Henrik Poulsen said the sale was a “major milestone” in the company’s transition from a fossil-fuel provider to a “pure-play renewables company.” The unit was earmarked for sale last year as the company switched strategy to focus on building a portfolio of offshore wind, bioenergy and green distribution businesses and has been using its oil and gas business for cash to fund its renewable drive.
