Analysts expect government data scheduled for release Thursday to show natural gas stockpiles shrank by seven times more than average for this time of year
The U.S. Energy Information Administration is expected to report that storage levels shrank by 151 billion cubic feet of gas during the week ended March 17, according to the average forecast of 14 analysts, brokers and traders surveyed by The Wall Street Journal.
For the March 17 week, the median estimate is for a decrease of 148.5 bcf. Estimates range from a decrease of 170 to a decrease of 138 bcf.
The estimate for March 17 compares to 13 bcf added to storage in the same week last year and a five-year average drain of 21 bcf for that week.
